Philosophical turns – what does it mean? We have witnessed (or least claim that they have existed) a few within the last century/50 years
- Linguistic turn (James, Frege, Heidegger, Husserl)
- Hermeneutical turn (Heidegger, Gadamer)
- Pragmatic turn (Austin, Searle, Wittgenstein, Rorty)
- Semitotic turn (Peice, Eco, Latour?)
Lately also the ontological turn has been proposed.
But what does it mean to turn? Turn to something. Hightligting. Foregrounding. Or maybe something more profound?
